Using your own fabric

Although we have 3,000 fabrics available some customers like to provide their own fabric. All our sofas and chairs can be made using customers own material. Please contact us at info@finlinefurniture.ie and we can advise the number of metres we need. Please note all fabric provided to us must be Fire Treated as required by Irish Law.

The responsibility to Fire Treat fabric rests with the customer supplying fabric. When supplying Customers Own Material the customer is consenting that the fabric supplied has been fire treated. Should customers require it may be possible for Finline Furniture to Fire Treat fabric at an additional cost.

Items covered using customers’ own material are charged at our Bronze Collection prices.

Fire Treated Fabric

All our fabrics are treated to the highest Government Requirements. The Furniture Fire Safety Regulations in the UK and Ireland are the most stringent in the world. Often imported furniture sold in Ireland does not adhere to these regulations as they are manufactured outside of the UK & Ireland. However, at Finline Furniture we insist that all fabrics are fully Fire Treated before we accept them onto our premises.

How to choose an upholstery fabric?

Finline Furniture has a massive range of fabric choices. But don’t be daunted. Here’s how to choose a fabric that will make the right statement in your home. Nothing has a bigger influence on the look of your upholstered furniture than the fabric. It’s the most visible sign of fashion and quality. So how will you select a fabric that has the style, durability and feel that you may want? It’s in knowing what to look for and what questions to ask our expert staff.

Some Things To Consider When Selecting A Finline Furniture Fabric

Style

The fabric should be suited to the style and character of the piece it is covering. A traditional model such as our Alexander Range will usually look best with more traditional fabric styles that we source from one of the world’s leading mills in Belgium. The size or width of the pattern should be appropriate for your room size. Large repeating patterns generally look better in larger rooms. Consider whether the fabric colour is warm or cool. Be sure the fabric is the correct mood for the room the furniture is going into.

Colour

Colour is usually the main reason that people select certain fabrics. But certain colour fabrics may not be the best choice for durability and stain resistance. If you have small children or pets you’re probably better off choosing a colour that won’t show dirt easily. If you have a room that’s used for only special occasions then it might be better to go for a more opulent looking damask type fabric. In Ireland because of our climate, many people prefer warmer colours such as Beiges or Terracottas.

Durability

You need to consider if the furniture will be in a part of the house that receives the heaviest traffic. Furniture that will get a lot of daily heavy wear need to be covered in tough, durable, tightly woven fabrics.

It’s important to keep in mind that grade is NOT an indication of quality or durability. It is just an indicator of how expensive the fabric was to make and source from the many fabric suppliers we deal with throughout the world.

We provide our customers with a huge choice, so don’t settle for anything you’re not in love with. Most important make sure to pick a fabric that you can truly LIVE with. Clearance Fabrics

Our Clearance Fabric is part of our Bronze Collection fabrics and offers value to the discerning customer. There is a massive choice of fabrics in different styles. Any of our models are available at large discounts of up to 60% in any of these fabrics.

All fabrics are available at €20 per meter. The fabric can be collected from our factory or it can be sent by courier (additional cost). To view these fabrics you need to visit our showrooms at our Factory in Emo Co Laois, Dublin Showrooms, Cork Showrooms, or our Galway Showrooms

Any Fabric can be upholstered on any sofa or chair.
